They never seem to be calm or boring.
Friday night I was able to go out to dinner with some girlfriends, eat delicious pizza, get some adorable presents for G-unit, and enjoy Sprinkles cupcakes for dessert. I came home, had some quiet time with the hubby (since E was at my mom's for the night) and then slept for almost 12 hours.
Saturday was relaxing. Ran a few errands after making blueberry waffles for breakfast and headed down to my mom's. E took a long nap at her house (almost 2.5 hours) and we relaxed until Paul came down. Paul had spent this time doing "projects" around the house - turning E's bed around, mopping, rearranging our room to fit the bassinet, getting a new hall closet door and painting it, repainting other doors in the house. Once Paul joined us, we headed to my sister's house to celebrate my brother-in-laws birthday. They had some yummy tacos and sides for dinner, as well as some amazing desserts. We weren't able to enjoy the desserts because we headed back home to get E to bed. Once the little one fell asleep, Paul and I relaxed for a bit and then went to bed around 11:00. I didn't actually fall asleep until close to 3 am. The dinner did not sit well with me - I was sweating, tossing, turning, burping, and actually hugged the trash can for 20 minutes thinking something was going to come out. Nothing did, but I placed the trash can next to my side of the bed just in case. Fortunately, since Paul turned the bed around, we didn't have a middle of the night visitor. He woke up once, realized he couldn't get out, then laid back down and fell asleep.
Sunday morning, E woke up just before six. Paul was kind enough to let me sleep, but I couldn't because E kept screaming and having a fit. Around 7:30, I finally got up. We all showered and got dressed for church. It's been a LONG time since we've been there and figured we should stop putting it off. E did fairly well, playing with his toys and eating snacks - only had to leave 3 times - once for a poo filled diaper, once to calm down but we returned quickly, and finally at the end of mass during the closing announcements. Lunch was at Jason's Deli and the little man child didn't want to eat much other than our ice cream cones. Seems as though he filled up on his snacks during mass. Once we returned home, E napped, I went to get a haircut and pedicure, and P did some more projects around the house. We hung some pictures in G-unit's room and started preparing to hand the new closet door. I went into E's bathroom and noticed that the bathtub had about 3 inches of dirty water in it. I should it to Paul and he said that the bathtub in our room was the same. We called Roto Rooter and they cleared out our plumbing issue. Unfortunately, everything in E's bathtub we had to throw away since the water was waste water. YUCK! Paul then spent time bleaching both bath tubs and then cleaning them. What a Sunday we turned out to have!

more good news
...just keeps coming!
Had another Dr appointment today. Still 1 cm dilated, but am now 50% effaced. My GBS test came back negative and I was thrilled!
Paul and I had a good talk with my Dr. I wanted to make sure that whoever is on call if he isn't, would be willing to allow me the birth I'm planning to have. He said he spoke to the other two doctors and they're on board too!
What I did like that he said was that even if he wasn't on call, as long as he is available, he'd come to G-unit's birth. (Let's see if that holds true!)
G-unit has to stay in till Monday...just a few more days!

new sleeping position
Over the weekend, E kept telling us that he wanted one of the railings on his toddler bed removed. Paul and I talked about it and since he was able to get out anyway, we figured it might be safer if we did remove it.
Last night, he came into our room around midnight and Paul was able to get him back to sleep. Then at 5:50, he was standing in the hallway ready to start his day.
This evening, he did all right going to sleep, although I had to go in twice to change his diaper. Well, when Paul got home at 8:30, we chatted for a bit when I randomly checked the monitor to see how E was doing. When I looked, he wasn't in his bed. He wasn't in the hallway either. Paul went in his room and came back out. He then told me to go in there and see him. This is how our child was sleeping.
Needless to say, Paul went in and put him back in the bed. What a terrible wake up that could have been!

thankful
I know we have a few months left until Thanksgiving, but I couldn't let today go by without saying thanks.
- To my husband who is always there to ease my nerves and encourages me when I am a nervous mess, who gets up without complaint when our son wakes up in the middle of the night and wanders into the hall, who massages me nightly to help my swollen feet, who reads through various scripts to help me prepare for this child's arrival, and who asks for nothing in return.
- To my amazing first born who surprises me each day with something new that he has learned, whose smile can make me melt, and whose tears break me into pieces, who taught me that love is truly selfless, and who makes me want to be a better person for his sake.
- To my new little guy who will make his arrival someday soon, who will teach me how love can only multiply, and who will teach me all new things about myself as a woman and as a mother.
I love you all. You make me complete.

38 weeks
Someday soon, this little stinker is going to come out and change our lives!
I received my labor/possible birthing tub yesterday from my doula, Lisette. She came by to check on me and make sure that I was doing well. She had heard from my coworker that I was a bit shaken up after the ICAN meeting I attended a few weeks ago. She was able to ease my nerves and gave me some fear release scripts to do with P. Having the tub here is making it feel so much more real and exciting. I was able to inflate it and sit inside for a while to get some good "vibes" going.
My hospital bag is packed; G's clothes and other items are in there too. His car seat has been installed and his room is pretty much set. I've told him that he needs to stay in for another week so that I can do some planning for the next few weeks at school and so that my doula is in town (she will be gone until the 13th)!
P has taken over E's bath and bedtime routine this week. It's mostly because I can't get off of the floor after nursing him to get him into bed. I miss being in there and don't enjoy hearing "Mama? Mama? Mama?" coming from the room, but at the same time I know that it's a good thing for him to not always expect me to be there.
My feet are rather swollen all the time and I'm sure it has become worse since school started this week. Once I get home, contractions tend to hit at a rather irregular rate (every 15-25 min) for a couple of hours and then they go away.
My next doctor's appointment is on Monday and we shall see what happens!

TMI
Beware: graphic pregnancy information to follow. Read if you dare.
So....after talking to Paul about it this evening, we are pretty sure that my mucous plug fell out on the bathroom floor this morning. I had no clue what it was at the time because it never happened to me with E.
I just thought it was shower gel or lotion since E was playing with both of those bottles this morning. Funny thing is that E pointed it out to me. Whoops!
