My mom and dad bought E a set of pots and pans, fruit basket, and kitchen utensils from Ikea. It's probably one of his most favorite things to do right now. He will spend countless minutes putting things into them, pouring them out, and stirring things around.
We went to my parent's house over Veteran's day weekend. E was able to ride around in the laundry basket and then decided that he wanted to take a stuffed bear around too.
Ah, yes. I caught my son playing with his car seat strap in his mouth which is not uncommon. But this time he was swaying back and forth singing while doing so.
Hugs. E loves to give hugs, especially to Layne. The other day at our nephew's birthday party E decided to start hugging his Aunt, cousins, and the neighbor boy from down the street (who was also at the party).
E decided to start reading a book that he already owns in the middle of our Wal-mart excursion.
Our garden is flourishing! We spent some time a plucking some of the seedlings. E had a blast putting them in his pail and trying to get Dad to put them back in the ground.
Also while at his cousin's birthday party, little guy had his first experience with a bounce house. I don't think he liked it too much.
One of his favorite things to do in the morning is play in our bathtub and climb/sit/stand on the step around it. He has expanded to climbing the dishwasher door when it's down, step ladders, chairs, the garden walls, treadmill, pillows, and boxes.
We were able to get some of our Christmas decorations up. You have no idea how thrilled I was to be able to put our stockings up on the fireplace. Paul and I are in the process of trying to order a mantel. I can't wait to see what it looks like when we get one!
When our dear sweet boy become frustrated, he now runs in place, bites something, or hits his head against a wall/door. He had just finished biting the metal of the step ladder. Silly kid.
Another one of his new things is to make animal sounds. He can tell you what a monkey, lion, and tiger say. The lion and tiger sound an awful lot alike. His enjoys looking and listening to the animal sounds app that I have on my phone. He can touch the screen and change the animals that appear.He also likes to turn on Paul's desk lamp, play with his laser pointer, and empty his desk drawers into the trash. This evening I found a stapler, a cd, half a box of envelopes, and a roll of "white out" in the trash canister.
Mealtimes have become a bit more of a challenge. E would much rather walk around while he eats than sit down. We had to break that habit quickly. He would also now prefers not having his food cut into pieces, but to have the whole thing that he can bite into. I've also noticed that he likes to dip his food into yogurt. Two days ago, E wanted nothing to do with his sippy cup at dinner and instead wanted to drink out of a cup. I would pour a smidge of milk into the cup and he'd drink it pretty well.
He's still as handsome as ever!
