E is a master at riding his bike! After just a few short sessions with Paul, he was off and riding without training wheels and all on his own!
One day he couldn't start without a little help, the next day he could.
One day he couldn't turn, the next day he could.
Seriously, it's his most favorite thing to do. Unless his helmet is on "crooked". Then we get tears.

Holidays 2013: Part 3 -Christmas
Christmas Eve was spent opening gifts and riding bikes with Paul's side of the family. The kids seem to get super crazy when they're all together!
E and G waited so patiently as the gifts were passed around.
I also spotted my favorite ornament on the tree. I think G looks just like him!
My parents headed down to Mexico for Christmas this year, so we got together with my sister and brother-in-law Christmas morning for a delicious breakfast and presents. Both of the boys were so excited to open gifts and it was the first year that E really "got it". We left cookies and milk out for Santa, carrots for the reindeer, and we even sprinkled "Reindeer food" outside so that Santa and the reindeer would know which house to come to.

Holidays 2013: Part 2 - Polar Express
We took both of the boys up north to the Polar Express. Two years ago, we took E and he had a miserable time. He was sick and vomiting then, so it was nice to know that we had healthy children time time.
We met up with Paul's sister, her husband, and their kids, along with Paul's mom and her husband. The boys loved playing in the snow and hanging out with their cousins.
G was a bit freaked out by the girl on our train car who made the announcements, so he wanted Paul to hold him almost the entire time.

Holidays 2013: Part 1
Tok, the Elf on the Shelf, made his appearance again this year. E was so excited to see him again! The boys would compete to be the first one to see where he'd be located each morning. On his last day visiting us, he left a notice for E and G to let them know if they made the nice or naughty list.
Welcome 2014!
Paul is always so thoughtful at Christmas time when I received this blog as a book. It's my favorite gift each year.
Now that we are diving into 2014, I have a feeling this years book may be the thinnest thus far. I'll do my best to catch up on the last two months of 2013 and these past several weeks of 2014.

Leaf Eater
While eating his spinach leaves at dinner, Evan takes a bite and says, "I'm like a caterpillar - eating leaves."
A few moments later he says, "I like how I can't taste the salad because the flavor of the dressing covers it up."
Me too.
