29 weeks

Baby’s energy is surging, thanks to the formation of white fat deposits beneath the skin. (Have those kicks and jabs to the ribs tipped you off yet?) Baby is also settling into sleep and waking cycles, though -- as you’ve also probably noticed -- they don’t necessarily coincide with your own. Also this month, all five senses are finally functional, and the brain and nervous system are going through major developments.

11 weeks to go!!

Swim season

I know that it's a little early, but I had to think ahead.

My "pregnant lady" swimsuit came today! YAY! I can't wait to use it next weekend when Paul and I head to the Pointe Tapatio Cliffs for our getaway.

Thanks, Old Navy!

Thanks, Valerie, for your Friends and Family discounts!!

Layne's New Trick

When he was a little puppy, Layne quickly discovered that the door stops in our house make noise. However, he never really did much with them. Recently, he's become VERY aware of what they do. He now uses them as an attention/food receiving device.

Layne

It's been a while since I've written anything about Layne on this blog. He's still around...no worries! Paul and I have noticed two things lately.

#1. Layne likes baseball. He will sit on the floor alongside the couch and peer his head above the coffee table to get a view of the screen. Last night we were watching the Indian's special on the MLB channel. He totally dug it!

#2. Layne was getting too big for his bed. He would lay in there curled up tightly to fit himself in. But half the time part of his body would end up falling out...

...so what do we do? We buy him a larger bed so he has more space. Then I see this last night...
I think he just likes falling out of his bed.

28 weeks

I had my doctor's appointment yesterday. It seems that everything is going well! Although to me is seems that my tummy has grown rather large, Dr. Chavira says that I'm where I should be. We had several questions for him this time and he was able to answer them for us. Sometimes when we go we're the last appointment and we feel rushed, but not this time. Some of the questions we asked he said we'd be getting more information about at the childbirth class.

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
